I am trying to convert from Quicken Premier (QP) Mac 2018 to QP Win 2018. I've exported from the Mac version using the QXF format, and imported the file into the Win version. All the accounts (except investment accounts) show, and with the correct balances, but a chunk of transactions are missing in each account. 80% of the resulting log file shows 'memory allocation error'. The windows laptop used to import the file has 8gb ram, and plenty of space. Is it possible to go from Mac to Windows in QP 2018, and how?

This has been a broken process since QW2013, though there have been some minor improvements. BUT the QXF export does not currently support investment accounts.

Someone may suggest alternatives but maybe you can use another software as an intermediate like MoneyDance or something that can read all the QM2018 data then have QW2018 convert that data (I have no direct experience). Note that the QXF import into Windows has never been changed to import investment accounts. And as Splasher said even past that for most people the categories and other fields get scrambled. Given the problem here is the best bet at importing just the non investment transactions. Note that in Quicken 2018 Windows they also messed up the QIF importing. This may or may not affect this use case. If you try this it would be appreciated that you report back if it works or doesn't in Quicken 2018 Windows given this QIF import problem. I made the same attempt to go from Q2017 for Mac to Windows 2018.
I am wanting more reporting and this was the only way to get it. The migration was a total mess and the investment accounts did not come over. This is a significant reason that I use quicken in the first place.
Even the accounts it did import did not come over clean. Not going to spend hours on end fixing this nightmare. Asked for the refund for Q2018 and will not attempt this again. Quicken Management needs to figure out what they want in a product as they are just driving customers away.
