Dears I used Lyx a very long time ago for my phd thesis, and now, after many many years, I'd like to use it again My idea was to install on my macbook, starting to create quite simple documents. After upgrading to OS X 10.10 yosemite, the instant preview of LyX seems broken --- it no longer works. I have tried to reconfigure the LyX both directly and launched through terminal, and neither works.
I have the shortcut in lyx over MacOSX for opening the preferences binded to cmd+, I wish to unbind it, as it's too close to cmd+m which is the default shortcut for mathmode. I tried the following: • went to Lyx->Preferences -> shortcuts -> function 'dialog-show prefs' and there changed the default bind to something else.
The shortcut I changed to is working, but still the shortcut cmd+, works. • I tried just for the sake of checking: changed a different function it's default binding, it worked- meaning it removed the default shortcut and only the new bind is working. • tried to change it in the MacOSX preferences: system preferences -> keyboard -> shortcuts -> app shortcuts -> there added Lyx 'diaglog-show prefs', and obviously it didn't work.

I use LyX 2.0.4 (on Mac OS 10.7) and would like it to do the following: whenever I hit 'View' it should automatically save the pdf output of the lyx file in the same folder the lyx file resides. Whenever I hit 'View' again it should overwrite the older version of the pdf.
