I'm using Apple Mail v4.6 in Snow Leopard. Anyone else been able to update their settings using that configuration? I've tried to follow the instructions on the AOL site but line no. 4 below doesn't seem to apply. I don't see AOL anywhere.
I also don't understand exactly what settings are being updated. I like using Apple Mail and don't want to have to download the AOL mail app. Is that my only option? In case anyone's interested I (a migrated verizon.net user) did manage to successfully update my Apple Mail connection settings so I would be able to receive and send mail from AOL after 11.07.17. For my incoming and outgoing mail server settings I was formerly using pop.verizon.net and smtp.verizon.net respectively. I changed the incoming server to pop.aol.com and the outgoing server to smtp.aol.com. Retained my former port settings on both. Simple enough.
